Now that Baby Hodges is so close to being here, I am in full nesting mode! Y’all know that I love to plan ahead and be prepared so I have loved reading up on all of the things I need to bring in my hospital bag. Let me tell you: I have done ALL the research to make sure I am not missing anything! I have asked friends and family who have already have kids what to bring. I have read Amazon reviews for recommended products. And, I have looked through tons of lists, all to come up with these hospital bag must haves for you (and me)!
Here are all of the items I am personally bringing to the hospital to make sure David and I are prepared to meet Baby Hodges. At the bottom of this post, you will find a downloadable hospital bag must haves checklist that you can save and print for yourself! Fellow mamas, we’re in this thing together!

Daddy Must-Haves
David’s list is the shortest one! I guess it’s a good thing his bag will be small since he will have to carry all of my bags. 🙂 Because we don’t know how long we will be in the hospital, he will be bringing a minimum of a change of clothes, some toiletries, and some comforts from home to make crashing on the couch a little easier.
Toiletry Bag
Change of clothes
Entertainment
Blanket and pillow
Baby Must-Haves
I have heard that the hospital provides a lot of these items, but I want to have them on hand just in case our nurses are super busy! I am packing the essential clothes and nursing items like onesies, burp cloths, and a pacifier. My one non-essential is the hairbrush kit, but it’s just so cute I have to bring it.
Other Hospital Bag Must Haves
These are some of the most important items! Of course, the car seat will already be installed before we go to the hospital, but these other items are must-haves! I am believing that labor will be peaceful, but I want to do all I can to make it that way. So, I am bringing a speaker, essential oils, and scripture cards.
