My second trimester passed so quickly: I can’t believe that I am now in my third trimester! My second trimester was definitely a time of growth for me and for Baby Hodges! I noticed my belly getting bigger every week and he went from little kicks and movements to full on body rolls. I am feeling great and still loving this process but wanted to give y’all some of my second trimester must haves that made all of the transitions a little easier! 10 ESSENTIAL SECOND TRIMESTER MUST HAVES

Pregnancy Pillow  — A lot of pregnant women struggle with insomnia. I haven’t really had that problem, but I can tell you that having an ever-changing body can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful. Having a body-sized pillow really helps you to get comfortable at night but also anytime! I use my pillow all day while I am working to get comfy! I also have brought it on the airplane for traveling and it’s made a world of difference! I have two different kinds. I use the PharMeDoc for sleeping because it has the most support but I like to use the Dr. Browns Dreamgenii for everyday use and travel because it takes up a lot less room!

A Good Bra — My boobs have grown so much! I can no longer just lounge around the house without a bra on, like I used to. I’ve been wearing the French Terry Racerback Nursing & Sleep Bra from Kindred Bravely and it has made ALL the difference. They both provide support and it doesn’t even feel like I have a bra on because they are very comfortable!

Nursing Pads —  If you have been following along, you might know that I have been dealing with leaky nipples since the first trimester! I’ve been using these nursing pads from Kindred Bravely and they have been lifesavers. You cant even feel them and it’s super easy to just slip them in your bra. I am comfortable but also don’t have to worry about any leakage getting through onto my clothes. They also are very easy to clean and it saves me so much time because I no longer have to wash my bras after every wear!

Comfy Undies — Trying to find clothes that fit is already stressful enough! You don’t want to start out being uncomfortable by wearing too small or otherwise uncomfortable undies. I have always worn Victoria Secret PINK undies. I guess I just got hooked in middle school and never thought to change or try other brands. But now that I am pregnant my undies started getting very uncomfortable. I saw one of my friends talking about her favorite underwear from nordstrom so when they went on sale during the nordstrom Anniversary sale I bought a few pairs and OH MY GOODNESS WOW! I am wondering how I ever wore those other ones from PINK. They are amazing and SOOOO worth every penny.

I don’t know about y’all but I CAN NOT wear thongs to bed (haha I really hope no guys are reading this post because there is a lot of girl talk language going on lol) I need my granny pannies (aka bikini or hipster coverage) when I sleep – haha. These undies, the Under the Bump seamless Maternity Undies from Kindred Bravely are what dreams are made of! I also have these, Under the Bump Seamless Underwear, and they are just as amazing! You really can’t go wrong with any of the undies from Kindred Bravely because they are seriously the most comfortable underwear you have ever worn and they fit under the bump perfectly! Use the code ASHLEYKB20 for 20% off!!

Low Impact workout — I have been going to Pilates and Pure Barre which both are great workout options while pregnant because it’s low impact but keeps your muscles toned. I also have loved going on power walks to get some fresh air and my endorphins pumping!

Water — I am being extra careful to stay hydrated! I keep my water bottle next to me at all times so I don’t forget to drink water! I used to bring my Yeti cup with me everywhere but I hated how I couldn’t throw it in my purse without spilling. So I bought a Hydro Flask and it’s the best decision ever. I can throw it in my purse and car and it doesn’t spill, and the one I have has a straw which I feel like I drink way more water when there is a straw!

Snacks, Current fave Let me tell you, I am HUNGRY! Eating for two is definitely REAL. How much can one girl eat in one hour? I find myself eating lunch and then reaching for a snack 20 minutes later. My current fave snack are the Luna Peppermint bars. You can find them on Amazon or at Target!

Lotion/Essential oils– Baby Hodges is growing by the day and so is my belly! My belly has been so tight! It has been so nice to end my day with rubbing the seedlings baby lotion from Young Living all over. It leaves your skin feeling so soft without the oily feeling like some other lotions out there and not to mention the smell is to die for! I put my essential oils blend (Gentle Baby, Frankincense, and Lavender mixed with Fractionated Coconut Oil in a roller) on my belly to keep it hydrated so that I don’t get stretch marks and to keep it from itching.

Tylenol — I have had random headaches sneak up and try to sabotage my day. Since you can’t have ibuprofen when you are pregnant, Tylenol has been my new best friend.

BellaBandIf you’ve been following me through this pregnancy then y’all have heard me talk about my BellaBand again and again. It has been my saving grace. Thankfully, for most of my pregnancy I was able to wear my favorite pants, even when Baby Hodges made my belly too big for them to button, because of the BellaBand! It easily kept my cute pre-pregnancy jeans on without falling or sliding. The Bella Band allowed me to wear my pre-pregnancy pants that made me feel good!
